Create & Host Unlimited Websites For Free With Webydo

The Internet is a huge part of our lives, and having your own website is more important than it’s ever been. But what if you want to create your own website, yet not have all of the headaches like searching for the best web hosting services, or even creating your site from scratch, out of something like WordPress. Well, have you considered Webydo?
We’re giving away 10 Webydo Premium accounts valid for 1 year right after this review, so read on then join the competition!

What Is Webydo?

Webydo is a free, and very easy to use What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) website designer and Content Management System (CMS), which allows you to make gorgeous looking websites, very quickly, with absolutely no coding skill! Pretty cool stuff I think you’ll agree. So let’s dive in and take a look at what Webydo has to offer.
With a free Webydo account, you can create unlimited websites with 15 different pages each, with 1 GB of storage. You won’t need to pay for hosting — everything’s covered by Webydo’s fast servers.

Getting Started

The first thing you need to do, is sign up for a free account. Once that’s done, you’re ready to start making your first website. What I really like about Webydo, is that it isn’t yet another collection of templates where you simply add your own text.

Whilst there are templates available for you to take advantage of, every single part of the template can be changed; giving you a completely unique site. Not only that, but you can also pick from a simple guided layout, and also a completely blank site, where you can let you imagination run wild.

If like me, you chose a template design, everything was set up and ready to go in a matter of seconds. All you needed to do then is change the images, text, and any other design elements that you don’t like. You can also add pages, widgets, and forms in order to add additional content over and above what the default template has to offer.

In the design window, it’s extremely easy to edit the content on the site. You simply have to click on what you would like to edit, change an image, manipulate some text, and away you ago. Once all the changes are made, hit the Publish button, and your site is live. How easy is that?

Features

Webydo has a tonne of features, some of which other online CMS providers, like Wix and Weebly just don’t offer. You can read a full list of the features on offer here, but here’s a quick list of some of the really great features that Webydo has:
  • Simple drag & drop editor
  • All sites are responsive – which means they work on tablets and smartphones
  • You publish a site within a few minutes
  • You can edit every single element of the web sites design
  • Add blogs and e-commerce to your sites
  • Manage SEO
  • Connect to Google Analytics
  • Fully brand-able dashboard (looks great if you have more than one user editing your site)

Not Just For Home Use

With the free account you have to use a Webydo sub-domain, which means your sites address will be something like http://your-site.webydo.com. Not the best for a business, but for a small fee, you can upgrade to a premium account which gives you the ability to use your own domain name, as well as a few other goodies. Again, Webydo bundles hosting into the price, so you won’t need to search for web hosting service provider — it handles everything for you.
You can also customise both the dashboard and login page for your site, giving it a much more professional look. A lot of the templates that you can choose from are actually business-based, so there is something there for most business owners, as well as personal users.

Good For Web Designers

The Webydo premium account offers unlimited web pages, so web designers could also benefit from this service. With options for SEO, adding Google Analytics code, and of course the white labelled dashboard I mentioned before, web designers can certainly make good use of the Webydo offering.

In order to ease the collaboration between web designers and their clients, Webydo offers two integrated work environments: a Design Management System, essentially the professional end for creating the website; as well as a Content Management System, for the client or owner to easily update the site’s content. In addition, Webydo allows web designers to streamline the entire process of billing clients directly through the Webydo dashboard.

How To Hide Text In Microsoft Word 2007, Reveal It & Protect It

Sometimes what we hide is more important than what we reveal. Especially, documents with sensitive information, some things are supposed to be ‘for some eyes only’. Such scenarios are quite common, even for the more un-secretive among us. You want to show someone a letter composed in MS Word, but want to keep some of the content private; or it’s an official letter with some part of it having critical data. As important as these two are, the most common use could involve a normal printing job. Many a time we have to print different versions of a document, one copy for one set of eyes and others for other sets. Rather than creating multiple copies and therefore multiple printing jobs, what if we could just do it from the same document?  That too, without the hassle of repeated cut and paste. We can, with a simple feature in MS Word – it’s just called Hidden and let me show you how to use it to hide text in Microsoft Word 2007. It’s a simple single click process. Open the document

Clip & Convert Your Video Faster With Quicktime X & The New Handbrake 64-bit [Mac]

Recently a friend of mine asked for my help to find a video of a good presentation to be shown to one of his classes. He also requested for it to be iPod friendly as he would also distribute the video to his students. Three things came to my mind: Steve Jobs, Quicktime and Handbrake . Mr. Jobs is well known for his great presentations which are often used as references. I have several Apple Keynotes videos. For my friend, I decided to choose the one that introduced MacBook Air – the one that never fails to deliver the wow effect to the non-techie audience. It’s a part of January 2008 Macworld Keynote. First step: The Cutting To get only a specific part of the Keynote, I clipped the 1+ hour video into about 20 minutes using Quicktime X (which comes with Snow Leopard). I opened the movie using Quicktime X and chose Trim from the Edit menu ( Command + T ). Then I chose the start and end of my clip by moving both edges of the trimming bar to the desired position. Ex-Skypers Launch Virtual Whiteboard Deekit

Although seriously long in the tooth and being disrupted by a plethora of startups, for many years Skype has existed as an almost ubiquitous app in any remote team’s toolkit. So it seems apt that a new startup founded by a team of ex-Skype employees is set to tackle another aspect of online collaboration. Deekit, which exits private beta today, is a virtual and collaborative whiteboard to help remote teams work smarter. The Tallinn, Estonia-based startup is headed up by founder and CEO, Kaili Kleemeier, who was previously a Head of Operations at Skype. She and three colleagues quit the Internet calling giant in 2012 and spent a year researching ideas in the remote team space. They ended up focusing on creating a new virtual whiteboard, born out of Kleemeier’s experience collaborating with technical teams remotely, specifically helping Skype deal with incident management. “Working with remote teams has been a challenge in many ways – cultural differences, language differences, a
