Optimize a Single Post On Your Blog for SEO

This is an unofficial extra task for the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog Workbook . Today I spent the morning working on a task that I try to do at least once a month – SEO on individual key posts in my archives. While it’s important to know and practice the basics principles of SEO in the way you set up your blogs structure and in the writing of your posts – I find it can be very worthwhile periodically going back through key old posts to optimise them even further. I’ve used the following process for a while now and in most cases where I do it I find I’m able to increase my ranking for different posts. I’m not the world’s best SEO but here’s the process that I use in doing this (I invite you to share yours in comments if you do this type of thing) – I hope you find it useful: 1. Identify Key Posts to Optimize for SEO Across my active blogs I have 10,000 blog posts so I need to be a little strategic about choosing which blog posts I go back to to give a little SEO attention to.

4 Common Windows 7 Problems And How To Fix Them

Most Windows 7 problems are related to the upgrade process. Do a clean install if and when you can. You can also refer to my previous article on how to resolve 3 upgrading issues with Windows 7 here . If you are still having issues, hopefully we cover them below. If not, hit us up in the comments or ask it over at MakeUseOf Answers . We are going to run through 4 Windows 7 problems or issues that you can have on your new Windows 7 machine regardless of the version. Hopefully these answers will help you out and make Windows 7 the best operating system yet. There are certain things I do right away when getting a new machine. One of the things I do is disable hibernation as I do not want a huge hiberfil.sys file on my hard drive. But how do I disable it? I could not find an option anywhere but I went looking online and found a registry option that will permanently disable hibernation and return my precious space back to me. Now I do not like recommending registry modifications when

iFlipr: A Free Tool to Make Flash Cards Online

In my college days, using flash cards to prepare for foreign language and other related exams were essential to my memorization process. In my day, you bought a pack of 3×5 cards and performed the labor of writing a question on one side of the card and the answer on the other side. Today, this process can be done faster because now you can make flash cards online. There are several flashcard sites that share cards and provide you a way to quickly create your own. We at MakeUseOf have pointed out 3 Sites to Make Flash Cards for Your Kids . How To Trigger Wake On LAN Using The MAC Address

So you want to have your machines go to sleep when they are not working and then be able to remotely connect to them and have them automagically respond? This is cross platform and can potentially work on any computer. The computers can be in a totally powered off state (but still connected to the power outlet) and woken up all the way to a simple stand-by mode. This is called Wake On LAN. According to Wikipedia , Wake-on-LAN is an Ethernet computer networking standard that allows a computer to be turned on or woken up by a message. The message is usually sent by a simple program executed on another computer on the local area network. Wake-on-LAN is also known as Wake on LAN , WOL , or sometimes WoL . It may also be known as Remote Wake-Up or RWU . Before we begin, we should go over the system requirements for using Wake On LAN. The system you are launching the Wake On LAN command from does not need to match the requirements — just the machine you will be waking up. Here they a

Hiren’s Boot CD – The All-In-One Boot CD For Every Need

Hiren’s Boot CD is an all-in-one bootable CD solution that contains a load of useful tools you can make use of in a variety of situations. I am talking about hard drive failure, virus infections, partitioning, password recovery and data recovery. HBCD (as Hiren’s Boot CD is called) is a God-send in situations like these. It has a multitude of tools divided into a number of categories like partitioning tools, backup, recovery and BIOS/CMOS tools to name a few. Each of these categories have a number of tools listed under them. To use Hiren’s Boot CD, you have to download and then burn the downloaded ISO file onto a CD. Put the CD in the drive and restart your computer. Make sure that the BIOS settings check for the optical drive before the hard disk for bootable media. If all that is set well, you will see a screen like below (I am using the older version here): You can now choose to boot from the hard drive, which will boot your computer as if you had not inserted the CD, you can

5 Cool Things You Can Do With Google Voice

When I first heard about Google Voice, I immediately submitted my email for an invite, and within a few weeks I received one. April first provided a review of Google Voice and offered 100 invites right here at MUO. Since then, Google continued to progress with Google Voice and add more features. My initial excitement about Voice quickly faded when I learned that Google Voice will not let you port over your home number yet – although you can use your mobile number, but you’ll be limited to primarily only using the voicemail feature. As I’ve been waiting patiently for Google to offer home number porting (which Google’s help page promises is a feature that’s “coming soon”), I’ve noticed that more cool features keep getting added on to the service, so I thought it’s about time for a list of 5 cool things that you can do with Google Voice. 1. Integrate Google Voice for All Mobile Calls Obviously, once you sign up with Google Voice, you’ll want to install the mobile app onto your phone.

What Is the Definition of a Virtual Private Network [Technology Explained]

Networking is not at all new to the computing world. You reading these words right now is courtesy of computer networking. If your office has a number of computers, the chances are that they are on the same network allowing you to share files and folders with your colleagues and also use the same Internet connection to connect to the rest of the world. This is what is typically known as a LAN. As organizations started spanning multiple sites, they started using WANs. What about the situations where organizations have offices spanning a number of countries? Surely connecting them with dedicated wires is no longer a cheap solution.
