5 Model iPhone Apps You Can Create With No Coding Skills Required

Last week we ran an article about  How to Create an iPhone or Android App Without Any Coding Skills , which is an introduction to a fairly easy-to-use online web application program called  Buzztouch . It works sort of like putting together a website in which you use templates and plug-ins as a basis for your iPhone or Android app. With a little imagination and of course media content, you can create your own application using Buzztouch, and have it exported to the respective software development kit – Xcode for Mac or Android SDK – for final coding production. Buzztouch could also be used as the building block for learning more advanced coding. In this follow-up article, I will share five model iPhone applications developed using Buzztouch. While these apps are not at the top of any iTunes Store List, you will see how they are useful for niche markets, organizations, clients, and the like. Imagine not only handing your clients your business card but also a portfolio mobile...

Edit & Record Compressed MP3 Files Without Decompressing With MP3DirectCut

MP3 is a digital audio encoding format, in which audio files are compressed to reduce the amount of data (i.e. shrink the file size), without losing sound quality in the ears of most listeners. The standard procedure of editing an MP3 file involves several steps: decompression of the file, editing, and re-encoding to MP3. The decompression and re-encoding process typically results in a significant loss of quality. mp3DirectCut  is a freeware audio editor and recorder that can work with compressed MP3 files. It allows you to cut, copy, and paste audio bits or change the volume without decompressing the audio file. In other words, you can edit your MP3 files without a loss of quality. Moreover, you can record MP3s and auto-detect pauses to cut and ID3 tag a file. The Interface mp3DirectCut has a clear interface, which provides easy access to all key features. Editing and playback buttons sit at the bottom of the window, navigation in the middle, topped by the MPEG audio data wave...

3 Resources For Deleting Your Unwanted Online Accounts

Delete unused user accounts for web apps you’ve abandoned. Don’t leave personal information in the hands of services you’re not using. Find out how to get rid of such accounts, then do it. As web apps become the norm, the Internet is fast becoming a series of usernames and passwords. Accounts make services more useful, but they can be a security threat if left unmonitored. If you’re not using a particular account anymore, and doubt that you ever will, it’s a good idea to delete that account. However, deleting an online account is sometimes easier said than done. Many web services seem to intentionally hide the button that reduces their user statistics. This can make deleting online accounts around the web more than a little frustrating. There are sites that can help though, which summarize in simple terms how to delete your various online accounts. AccountKiller Got a service you’d like to delete your account for? If it’s possible,  Account Killer  has instructions for the...

How To Add Tabs To Microsoft Office & Improve Your Document Management

We have got so used to tabs that we routinely miss them in the other applications we use. One of our more oft used applications happens to be the  Microsoft Office  suite. Tabs are something which the guys at Redmond woke up late to. So far, it has escaped an introduction in MS Office; a feature I am sure many of you out there would want as a default. At least I am sure that power users around the world are hankering  for it. Microsoft Office plug-in  Office Tab (ver.7.00)  heeds it and adds tabbed document support to Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  Office Tab  is a 2.9 MB download and it comes in commercial and free editions. The free edition is for personal use and is feature limited. As we will see, the limitations of some features do not detract from the usefulness of this plug-in when it comes to managing multiple documents. Install and First Look Office Tab is compatible with Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit), Windows Server, Windows Vista (32 & 6...

RoboForm Desktop – Keep Your Passwords Safe & Secure

emember The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy? Douglas Adams had one tip – always carry a towel. While that’s a great tip for “real life”, if I had to choose just  one  tip to give all web users, it would be – use a different password for each website. Seriously, I cannot stress this enough. If you use the same password (or two passwords) everywhere, a single security breach on one website could leave you wide open to identity theft across the whole Web. Not a pleasant prospect! But if you use a different password for every website, how will you ever be able to remember them all? You won’t, of course, and that’s where a password manager comes in. With a password manager, you only need to remember one “master password”, protecting all other unique passwords.  KeePass  and  LastPass  users are nodding their heads knowingly at this point, but if you’ve never used a password manager before and the concept seems a bit intimidating, it’s very possible  Robo...

Integrate Google Calendar Into Your Chrome Browser With Checker Plus

There are a lot of calendars and to-do apps out there, and to be honest, I think I’ve tried almost every one of them. The one difficulty that I’ve always had is that I don’t like the need to either open an application or to visit a website to check my calendar. In my opinion, any calendar system should be fully integrated into your normal Internet use, and it should be available at a quick glance. When I think of any online calendar system, I definitely stuck with Google Calendar the longest. The reason is that it offers just about everything you’d need in a personal scheduling system – a to-do list, easy event and appointment creation and access via either a desktop app or the website. Google Calendar is even accessible from  Google Mail , or other email clients like  Outlook  or  Thunderbird . After a while, I always tend to stop using my calendar because I’m usually too busy to check it! Well if you’re like me, then you’ll be glad to learn about a useful Google...
